Terms of Service

1. Eligibility and your account

You must be 16 years or older and legally permitted to use the service where you live. If local law requires parent or guardian permission to enter these Terms, obtain it before use. Sign in with Google or email and choose a username. Before joining a beta room, you must explicitly confirm your age eligibility and accept the beta Terms. That confirmation is not verified age or identity.

Keep your credentials and device secure, supply accurate information, and do not impersonate others or transfer your account. A pseudonym is not a guarantee of anonymity or of another member’s identity.

2. What the beta offers

The four fixed intent rooms support platonic text conversations about friends, communities, business, and allowed local buying and selling. This beta requires an internet connection and a hosted relay. It does not promise offline messaging, server independence, private one-to-one matching, or a particular response or delivery time. Text limits, capacity constraints, interruptions, and feature changes may affect availability.

Images, GIFs, audio, video, documents, executables, arbitrary attachments, and generated link previews are disabled. The app is not an emergency service and does not provide medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. Contact local emergency services for immediate danger.

3. Acceptable use

• Do not harass, threaten, dox, discriminate, incite hate or violence, impersonate, scam, spam, or violate anyone’s rights.
• Do not share sexual content, nudity, sexting, sexual services, grooming, sextortion, or any CSAM/CSAE.
• Do not promote gambling, wagering, lotteries, loot boxes, or paid chance mechanics.
• Do not trade intoxicants, recreational drugs, tobacco, pork-derived products, prohibited sexual services, or predatory interest-bearing loans.
• Do not engage in religious coercion or target anyone for being Muslim, non-Muslim, or of any belief.
• Do not bypass moderation, age or account restrictions, compromise accounts, interfere with the service, or submit unlawful or infringing content.

These universal halal rules apply equally to Muslim and non-Muslim members, without profiling religion. Respectful interfaith, educational, journalistic, prevention, and recovery discussion is welcome. Dating, romantic matching, and romantic solicitation are prohibited for every member and every intent.

4. Your content and message privacy

You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display it as needed to provide the service, enforce these Terms, and comply with law. Only submit content you have the right to share. We may restrict or remove content that violates these Terms.

Messages are encrypted on your device before ciphertext enters a temporary Supabase relay. Q Chat and Supabase can access the server-readable room key, so the beta is not end-to-end encrypted. Outgoing plaintext is processed by temporary Supabase Edge rule checks before encryption, alongside on-device checks; received text is checked again on-device. These reduced checks can miss harmful content and are not specialist safety-provider approval.

Relay messages expire from retrieval after about 24 hours, but stored cleanup and participants’ cached copies may outlast that period. Leaving a room revokes future relay access for that device and does not erase previous copies. Membership has no automatic expiry during this beta. Do not use these shared rooms for confidential information.

5. Reporting, moderation, and review

Long-press a received message to report its sender or block the account. Plaintext report evidence is off by default; include it only if you choose. Reports include reporter and target identifiers, category, details you supply, and any evidence you opt to attach. They are stored in a private safety queue. A receipt confirms storage, not reviewer action or a guaranteed response time. If submission fails, retry or contact support. For a non-CSAM enforcement error, email support to request review.

We may restrict content or accounts for violations, security risks, or legal requirements. Automated checks can make mistakes and do not guarantee that all harmful content is detected. External specialist safety providers are not active in this text-only beta. Confirmed CSAM/CSAE violations result in termination and reporting to competent authorities as legally required; see the Published Standards.

Reports, appeals, safety notices, blocks, identity enforcement, bans, and CSAM/CSAE handling never cost Q Coins.

6. Q Coins and earlier purchases

Q Coins and purchases are unavailable in this beta. There is no beta checkout, paid pass, or subscription. These Terms do not promise a future paid feature or release date.

Where an earlier or separately enabled version offers Q Coins, they are virtual service credits with no cashout or user-to-user transfer and no chance mechanic. No payment or pass bypasses safety rules. We do not offer Q Coins or other rewards for store ratings or reviews. The price, effect, and duration shown at the time of any eligible purchase govern that purchase, subject to applicable law.

For an earlier Google Play purchase, use Google Play’s refund process or contact support about delivery problems with the order reference. Eligibility depends on applicable law and the purchase platform’s policy; nothing here removes mandatory refund or consumer rights. Do not send card details or passwords.

7. Business and local buy/sell discussions

Members are responsible for their own conversations and any agreements between them. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, Qiu Technologies LLC is not a party to those agreements, a payment or escrow provider, or a seller of listed goods. We do not verify goods, identity, quality, legality, payment, delivery, or outcomes. Follow local law and report scams or prohibited trade.

8. Ending use and deleting your account

You may stop using the app, leave a room, sign out, or delete your hosted beta account. Open Privacy and account from the rooms screen, choose Delete account, and follow the confirmation. Successful deletion immediately removes active hosted account records; there is no recovery period. Safety reports, review records, provider backups, and cached copies may remain as described in the Privacy Policy. Uninstalling or signing out is not an account deletion request.

See account deletion instructions for deletion without app access. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated violations or legal requirements. Any treatment of earlier purchased benefits remains subject to applicable law.

9. Our software and third-party services

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app for its intended purpose. Our branding, software, and website materials belong to us or our licensors. This does not transfer ownership of your content or override rights granted by applicable open-source licenses or law.

Supabase, Google, Firebase, and linked third-party services have their own applicable terms and privacy notices. Availability of those services affects the beta.

10. Availability and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without guarantees of uninterrupted operation, delivery, safety, or suitability for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qiu Technologies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability, warranties, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Law and changes

New Mexico, United States law governs these Terms, subject to mandatory protections in your jurisdiction. Disputes may be brought before competent courts in New Mexico unless applicable law gives you another right or forum.

We will give appropriate notice of material changes and request renewed agreement where required. If you do not accept revised Terms, stop using the service; you may request access to or deletion of your information. A website edit does not itself record new acceptance in your account.

12. Launch-list, investor, and supporter communications

The optional launch list is a request for email updates. It does not reserve an account, a place in a testing track, a product, or a purchase. You may unsubscribe as described in the Privacy Policy.

Any website request for investor information is for a non-confidential conversation only. It is not an offer to sell securities or a solicitation to buy securities. We do not accept investment commitments through qchat.site.

We do not accept monetary donations through qchat.site. Before any supporter campaign opens, we will publish the recipient, purpose and use of funds, applicable fees, timing, cancellation or failure handling, tax treatment if any, and campaign terms.
